As a kid, French Toast was staple our home. My mom used leftover bread to make this wonderful recipe. She never used traditional breads like brioche or challah, but would use whatever day-old sliced bread was on hand. Recently, I had a craving for this recipe, but didn't have sliced bread on hand. So, I decided to use leftover hamburger buns which were hanging out in my fridge. I use organic farm fresh eggs form Spur Farm (Portage, IN), Trader Joe's Bourbon Bourbon Vanilla, although you can use your favorite Pure Vanilla Extract, almond milk, cinnamon and pinch of sea salt. For egg substitution, see Shop Kitchen Essentials below. Once your toast is done, top with your favorite fruit or my Caramel Apple Compote which can be found here. If you've read my Facebook post about the difference between organic and conventional (pasteurized eggs), it could make all difference in where you source your eggs. You also notice how organic eggs effect the outcome of your recipes. Read More Here Find organic eggs in your area at Local Hens.
